Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

The Tunisian Chemical Society (SCT) is committed to protecting personal data and ensuring its processing in accordance with applicable Tunisian law.

2. Personal Data Collected

  • Identity: first name, last name
  • Contact information: email address, phone number (if provided), institution/organization
  • Form-related data: contact requests, event registrations, administrative details
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, visited pages, session duration
  • Audience measurement data: traffic statistics collected via Google Analytics

3. Purpose of Processing

  • Responding to inquiries submitted through the Site
  • Managing event and conference registrations
  • Providing institutional communication and updates
  • Improving website performance, usability, and security
  • Measuring audience statistics via Google Analytics

4. Legal Basis (Tunisian Framework)

Personal data processing is carried out in compliance with: 
Organic Law No. 2004-63 of 27 July 2004 on the Protection of Personal Data (Tunisia).

  • User consent (forms, cookies where applicable)
  • Legitimate interest of SCT within its scientific mission
  • Necessity related to event organization and requested services

5. Payments and Paid Events

  • Banking data is never stored on the Site.
  • Payments are processed exclusively by certified and secure payment providers (e.g., GPG, ClicToPay).

SCT does not have access to users’ complete banking information.

6. Data Sharing

Personal data is neither sold nor transferred. It may be shared only with technical service providers necessary for website operation (hosting, email services, payment processing, analytics).

When using Google Analytics, certain browsing data may be processed by Google for audience measurement purposes.

7. Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described above, unless longer retention is required by law.
